I’m moving in!

I am moving into my new Womens’ Center.   The walls are a pastel aqua with white trim.  The furniture is being painted white.  I will use pastel accents.  Sea Foam green is an accent color.  It has large windows in the front that face south so I am going to put up a cornice and gauzy white curtains to defuse the light and reduce the heat that comes in from the south.  I will still get the light without the heat, I hope.

I finished the first wall hanging.  8 women were chosen to hang on the 2’x8′ plaque.  These wall hangings will be mounted all around the office.  I hope it creates inspiration for those who visit us.  I know it did for me.  I had no idea how many talented and creative women had come before and paved the way for us.  And most of them made their way when it was not popular or acceptable that women were independent.

I need to purchase a couple of work tables, for our workshops, as well as some chairs.  That is really all I need to begin.  I hope to have the grand opening in March.  No sense in putting it off longer.  I need to jump in there and start changing things for women in our community.

I will post a photo as soon as I get the office set up. Wish me luck!
