Mr. B’s Pancake House – Muskegan, Michigan

Hats off  to the employees at Mr. B’s Pancake House in Muskegan, Michigan.  It seems that after hearing that the restaurant was falling on hard times and might have to shut down, the employees came to the owner with an offer he couldn’t refuse.  It seems that his employees were willing to work for free to save their jobs. And, he didn’t have to wait long to see the results.

One morning the employees arrived at work, didn’t clock in and spent the day serving their customers with the usual smiles and wonderful service. The restaurant saved approximately $700.00 in wages and the customers made up for the slack by tipping the employees a whopping $800.00 over the day.

The owner says that due to laws against working employees without pay, this generous sacrifice will probably not be allowed to be repeated.  However, he is busy seeing what he can do to save their jobs by making cuts other places.  He is so impressed he would like to be able to keep the restaurant open so his employee can keep their jobs.  Here’s hoping that the residents of Muskegan will flock to Mr. B’s Pancake House in droves so he can maintain his presence in their community.

This award is for you!  “It’s A Wonderful Life!”
