Happy New Year!

I can’t think of a better way to celebrate the New Year than to be here chatting with you. The New Year was uneventful. I tried to stay up, but fell asleep probably moments before midnight. My hubby went to bed at 11:30 pm. At our age we’re lucky to stay up at all! LOL

I watched movies rather than the usual celebratory events broadcast on TV. I have never been much of a party person. So, the year ended much like it began…quietly. And there is nothing wrong with that!

I am saddened over the Israel/Hamas battles going on. Israel was not the one to end the cease fire that lasted six months. It would have continued had it not been for the Hamas Rockets that invaded their sovereign air space. It is too bad that the Hammas cannot control their actions and honor their agreements. It is too bad for the people of their country that they cannot focus on making the lives of their people better instead of creating war over land given to Israel years ago by the UN. Let go and get on with helping your people rebuild their country so that they can thrive, not just survive.

It is obvious that Hamas does not care about the people. And, they persist in causing harm to their own people as a result of their irrational actions. Their people could have a good life. They could rebuild their country and the people could have a quality life living in peace. But Hamas will not allow it. Perhaps the people need to rise up and change things. Now that would be a step in the right direction!

I am looking forward to the next four years with Obama in the White House…not because I voted for him, but because I want this country to heal and become prosperous again. I want him to succeed because that means the country wins! I want him to be the best president we have had because that means we will benefit from his leadership. I am excited to see if he can do what he has said he will do…lead this nation to prosperity.

I don’t have any New Years Resolutions but I do have a To Do List. I am not waiting to start working on it. I am actively pursuing my goals. May we all reach our goals this year!

As for my spiritual goals, I am going to concentrate on being a better, kinder, gentler person. It’s been a tough year and I have found myself a little terse and critical of my family. It is definitely a time for reflection and asking myself, “Who Am I really?” Then I can set out to find that true self.

Happy New Year!
